Many changes in the feet occur with age

Many changes in the feet occur with age, such as:

A naturally decreased amount of hair on the feet of the elderly.
Brown discolouration (pigmentation) in the form of spots or blotches may occur.
May become dry skin.
The toenails often get more curved and thicker.
Fungal infection of the nails is a common condition.
Feet can change in size.
The length and width of the feet may actually increase as a result of changes in ligaments and joints. A person who undergoes these types of changes may need to wear larger shoes. Therefore, feet should be measured periodically or when buying new shoes.

The feet can also be damaged as a result of continuing to wear ill-fitting shoes.
